LAWS OF ASTERIA'S ARMADA
Being an organization with a clear command structure, rules are necessary to maintain order among what could otherwise be a chaotic association of pirates and scoundrels.
Crew Rules
A list of the specific rules all crew members must follow are listed below:
- Treat crewmembers and other citizens of England as allies, meaning that you will not steal, harass, or disrespect them. Exceptions to this rule are enemies of the Armada and of England. Violations of this rule are classified as misdemeanors.
- Crewmembers are to under no circumstances attempt to rob or attack England's citizens or travelers unless they are known enemies of the town, county, or country and the robbery/attack has been approved by a high-ranking officer (First or Second Tier Officer). Violations of this rule are classified as crimes.
- Crewmembers are expected to share the loot won on raiding missions sanctioned by the Dread Pirate Queen equally among participants or to every participant's satisfaction. Violations of this rule are classified as misdemeanors.
- Crewmembers are under no circumstances to harbor or aid enemies of the town, county, country or armada unless sanctioned by the Dread Pirate Queen. Violations of this rule are classified as anything from misdemeanors to treason at the discretion of the Dread Pirate Queen.
- Confidential information from within the armada is not to be provided to outsiders either directly or indirectly. Violations of this rule are classified as anything from misdemeanors to treason at the discretion of the Dread Pirate Queen.
- Attempts to rob, assassinate, or overthrow an officer of any rank without approval from the Dread Pirate Queen are illegal. Violations of this rule are classified as anything from high crimes to treason at the discretion of the Dread Pirate Queen.
- Attempts rob or assassinate a non-officer crewmember without approval from the Dread Pirate Queen are illegal. Violations of this rule are classified as high crimes.
Penalties and Their Classifications
Any transgression against the rules listed above are classified as one of four types for determining the punishment(s) warranted by the misconduct. The following list names each classification and the general range of punishment they call for. These punishment ranges are by no means requirements and can be changed at the Dread Pirate Queen's discretion. Additionally, the Dread Pirate Queen has the right to pardon to any extent a crewmember for their crimes.
- Misdemeanor - This classification is the lowest level of crime resulting in the least severe of punishments. A crewmember guilty of a misdemeanor can expect a minor punishment ranging from a warning to being forced to pay reparations and/or fines.
- Crimes - This classification is the second highest level of crime resulting in considerable punishment. A crewmember guilty of a crime can expect to be turned over to the county authorities for punishment as well as face possible temporary or permanent banning from the armada.
- High Crimes - This classification is the third highest level of crime resulting in serious punishment. A crew member guilty of a high crime can expect to be turned over to the county authorities in addition to being banned permanently from the armada and being added to the list of enemies of the armada.
- Treason - This classification is the highest level of crime resulting in dire punishment. A crewmember guilty of treason can expect to be banned from the armada, added to the list of the enemies of the armada, and possibly declared as "marked".
Punishments
Each punishment carries its own consequences. Listed below are the details pertaining to each punishment:
- Crewmembers who are turned over to the county authorities are considered to have fulfilled their punishment to the armada regardless of the outcome of their trial if applicable.
- Crewmembers who have been temporarily banned are to not be provided confidential armada information and are considered to have the same status as an ally of the armada for the duration of their banning upon the completion of which they will be reinstated their full rights as a crew member.
- Crewmembers who are permanently banned from the armada are striped of all benefits and ranks granted by their previous membership and are considered to have the same status as a citizen of England or any other allied town.
- Crewmembers who has been added to the list of enemies of the armada are to no longer be considered an ally of the armada and are therefore striped of all rights and sanctions associated with an ally of the armada.
- Crewmembers who have been marked are considered to be to priority enemies of the armada and are to be prime targets for robbery and assassination by all members of the armada with the potential for carrying a bounty as well.
